About This Deck
Overview
This deck was preceded by a list called Twiddlestorm in Modern, where the gameplan was to untap mana-producing sources for mana, and sink that mana into a line that won the game. With the historic format getting more and more cards, this gameplan is reincarnated into a deck that untaps Lotus Field, casting cantrips that untap it to build storm for a lethal Grapeshot.
Win Conditions
This deck builds storm until we can find a Grapeshot or Tendrils of Agony out of the sideboard.
Pilot Notes
The first priority is finding a Lotus Field that we can play without sacrificing itself. This means we either need to play 3 turns to have other lands to sacrifice, or we need to do something unfair like stifling the sacrifice trigger with Consign to Memory or actual Stifle.
With the untap card quality in Historic, we have to rely on specific cards like Pore Over the Pages or Hidden Strings to go mana-positive. Pore requires that we're generating 5 mana with our untaps - which we can satisfy by playing Deserted Temple alongside our Lotus Field.
Finally, Underworld Breach or Past in Flames gives us recursion for our spells so that we can avoid fizzling.
